Softrock is an artistic project based in Ericeira, Portugal, crafting one-of-a-kind pieces inspired by rocky forms. These are functional sculptures that live on the threshold between art, design, and installation. Drawing from endless layers of sediment and natural landscape, Softrock explores territories where matter deceives the touch and challenges the eye: rocks that look like stone, but are light, soft, and made to be lived with.

Each piece is made to order, by hand, through a slow and intentional creative process, where time sets the pace and the material responds with texture. Production is entirely manual — piece by piece — drawn, sculpted, and painted by hand, without the use of molds, grounded in a philosophy of conscious, non-mass creation.

Softrock does not create objects, it proposes experiences. It evokes the comfort of nature and invites the imagination, suggesting new ways of inhabiting space. Its forms adapt and expand across any setting, scale, or context — always guided by an artistic eye, attentive to detail and the unique identity of each environment.

    Catalogue

Standard sizes, models, and shapes available on the ROCKS page.

Though part of a catalogue, no two pieces are alike. Each is sculpted by hand, with tonalities, textures, and details that make it entirely unique.

Subtle variations from the images shown may occur, while proportions and design intentions remain true to each piece.

    #MakeItSoftrock

A customised piece born between the imagination of the one who envisions it and the one who brings it to life.

It may begin from an existing model or emerge entirely from scratch — a rock that becomes a reflection of desire. Dimensions, textures, and visual references are the starting point for something wholly new.

This process is handled via email, and soon a dedicated page for this service will be launched on the website.

    Projects & Collaborations

Here, everything expands. A creative moment where Softrock dives into specific spaces and contexts, offering unique responses: installations, interventions, and large-scale pieces.

Each collaboration is a possibility, an opening to the unexpected, where matter and imagination meet to transform the environment into a more immersive, softer, and more alive space.
